White Shirt Wednesday - Daftbird

Today the focus is on the Daftbird line. Their beyond basic tees are a celeb favorite and I can see why. Joshua Christopher designed the line around the concept of the comfortable boyfriend tee. I like the details: uneven, raw-edged hems, slouchiness, buttons, and the slanted tags sewn with contrasting thread.

Here are a few of the tees I would like to buy once the shock of the back to school clothing spending for the twins wears off. Perhaps just one would be okay.

White Shirt Wednesday - Get Graphic

My latest and greatest tee is a white burnout one with black graphic flowers from Erge Designs. I couldn't find a picture to show you since it's sold out, but I have assembled a collection of graphic tees for your shopping pleasure.

This one would look great under a boyfriend jacket. Blurry wings graphic tee. $24 at Urban Outfitters.

Lauren Moshi tees are constantly seen on celebs, but I must confess that I've never really been a fan of the graphics. This seahorse tee changed my mind. $88 at eModa.

The Chinoiserie-inspired graphics on this tee are lovely and I think I could scrounge up $14.50 at Old Navy for something this cute. It also comes in purple, blue and pink.

The best bargain of the bunch. This sweet floral tee is only $9.99 at Gap.

White Shirt Wednesday - Big Lebowski Edition

I bought this open-front slub vest a couple of weeks ago and it has had the magical effect of tying my whole closet together, like the rug in The Big Lebowski. Click here if you don't get that movie reference, but if you don't, you're dead to me.

I won't bore you with the list, but it goes with nearly everything and is a great addition to outfits I have become meh about. It's an airy wisp of a garment, otherwise I wouldn't be wearing it right now in Florida, The Humidity State.

It's a simple little thing, but so versatile. I work around the house in tank tops and camisoles and I throw this on when I have to run out or when someone comes to the door. If I worked in an office, I would put a skinny belt on it and rock that look. It also comes in black, pink and gray. $17.48 - $19.99 at Target, where else?

White Shirt Wednesday - It's Splendid

I am a huge fan of Splendid tees. They are so soft and thin. My love for tees with a wide-banded hem has not diminished with time and this rugby tee has my attention today. I have a black vest this would look perfect under.

White Onesie Wednesday

So, it's Wednesday and I had a post all ready to go. Then, I checked my email this morning and Today's Mommie Goodie is featuring MookiMoo sleepwear. No, I'm no longer in the baby sleeper market, but these instantly caught my eye with their cute starfish, surfboard and fish designs. I just adore that white starfish one!

The MookiMoo sleepwear zips up the back, something that would have been useful when the twins started taking off their diapers during every naptime and every single night. They both did it, the little monkey-see monkey-doers. How do you plan a cohesive and sustained waterboarding-esque torture campaign against your parents before you can talk? At one point my husband and I resorted to putting clear packing tape over the diaper tabs. Oh, yes we did.

I have been having baby fever like crazy lately thanks to Maria's sweet, sweet Moose, my own adorable grandson (most zen baby ever, no lie) and Kelly's gorgeous little Ky. Hey Kelly, drop everything and get that baby a modeling career. She's so beautiful. Just don't turn into Terri Shields, okay?

It would be wrong to have another baby just to dress them in this sleeper. Wouldn't it?

White Shirt Wednesday – Kinda White

I’m on an extended vacation, hence the tumbleweeds here. I’m in Mississippi again and it’s waaay hotter here than in Florida. The tee that is saving me from completely melting into the pavement where my carcass would be picked over by giant mosquitoes is a gossamer light tee from Erge Designs. It’s a white (of course) v-neck patterned burnout tee with the most wonderful black floral design in a couple of places.

Sadly, I couldn’t find a pic to show you as it must be sold out. I got it from Marion’s, a local boutique in St. Petersburg, a couple of weeks ago. It seems Erge is one of those brands you can only find at boutiques, not department stores.

So, I’ll show you a few other designs by Erge and, trust me, you’re going to want to get a shirt by Erge. It’s the most comfortable thing I’ve worn in years. The shirts are quite long and scrunch perfectly at the bottom. They have other styles, like long-sleeved tees and hoodies, but I like the classic v-neck.

I found these kids’ tees at a site called Juvie and only wish I could find them in adult sizes because I think the patterns are great.

Finally, check out these summer-weight scarves in animal patterns. It’s the same silky-soft fabric and I think I need one for BlogHer.

White Shirt Wednesday - The "It" Tee

I happen to really like this LnA tee, and it's not just because a lot of celebrities have been spotted wearing it. I like it. I do. I think that little zipper pocket is adorable. I'm trying to get over the fact that Megan Fox is wearing it, because I find her quite annoying. Not as annoying as this guy does, but annoying nonetheless.

By the way, I think that Jessica Biel looks kinda glowy and possibly preggers in this picture. I don't know, it's just a vibe I'm getting. Maybe she's just happy that she's dating Woody Allen.

White Shirt Wednesday - "I'm not doing shit today."

My least favorite thing about working from home is when my husband asks me some variation of "What are you going to do today?" or "What did you do today?" When he asks me this I imagine all sorts of inflection, undertone and attitude and I immediately burst into flames. 

I do things. I do a lot of things. I sometimes don't work as much as I'd like, however, because I'm busy doing all of those things that keep our house from being condemned. That really is the biggest problem with working from home - being distracted by a tumbleweed of Labrador hair rolling past me at the computer and the next thing I know I have no good answer to this question at the end of the day.

Perhaps a uniform is in order. Just so everyone knows what time it is. Just for the record, the kids are out of school for the summer, so don't even think about asking me this question for the next two months.

I really, really like the Gap Cuffed Tee. I got a purple one for the March of Dimes walk a couple of weeks ago and am surprised by how much I wear it since it's not white. I'm kind of partial to white, you know. It comes in 13 colors and is on sale right now from $9.99 to $15. I think I'll get white.

White Shirt Wednesday - My Mother's Edition

Today's White Shirt Wednesday is brought to you courtesy of my mother. Apparently, slouchy white tees are hideous to her, and in addition to leaving pointed comments on my posts, she is now sending me links to white shirts she would like to see featured. 

Mom, don't get any ideas from this. I won't be cutting my hair short - your days of forcing me to style my hair like Dorothy Hammill because "It just looks so sharp!" are over! Besides, you know I need my hair long so I can twirl it.

I will, however, give you this one. I love the white shirts from Travel Smith. I certainly could use a stain-repelling and wrinkle-resistant shirt, and now my only problem is deciding which one to get.

I like the classic Napa one, but the Capetown is my favorite. Mom, why don't you just tell me which one you want me to get.

Does your mother tell you how to dress or wear your hair, or is it just me???
