Hi Kelly. Don't try to make me go to white tee rehab. I won't go, go, go.
There are some designers who just get the white tee. The right neckline, sleeve and fit makes all the difference. If a shirt is off on one of these issues, I just won't wear it.
That means no tugging at the collar cause I'm choking, or squirming around the armhole cause it is annoyingly tight, or constantly pulling it down cause it's too short. We can have none of that.
There are some great white tees out there so I'm going to have to limit myself to a few for today. All but one can be found at Shopbop, my web-session.
C & C California makes a great shirt. Their fabrics are the perfect weave and weight, and they have more and more organic cotton options lately. The Vavoom is my closet basic.
Next, James Perse. I have two of those semi-famous, rolled-edge, scoop-neck, cap-sleeve tees from a couple of years ago and I also have the casual tee. I love this shirt. It looks great and slouchy with jeans and a brown leather belt and sandals. Get a size down unless you like the billowy effect.
I always look for some detail that will give a white tee a little something. I love the baseball hem on this James Perse tee and I think I'll get it from Tobi.
I have quite a few Splendid tees. They are made with very thin, fine cotton and modal. Here's one I really like. Notice the recurring scoop-neck and slim-fit arm theme? For me, this style is easier to dress up and doesn't make me look puffy in the shoulder or irritate me when I wear it under a hoodie or cardigan.
Finally, a tee by Blue Life I am coveting. It's a little expensive, but details get me every time.
Dang. Just saw this pullover from Blue Life. Gah. That is really all.
